Jadestone Cavaliers

My name is Meryl B. Peek, an AKC Breeder Of Merit and a preservation breeder of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Jadestone Cavaliers is my greatest passion and dedication. My experience in purebred dogs as an exhibitor and breeder spans over 40 years. I am located in California, USA.

My first introduction to Cavaliers was due to my brother showing and breeding Cavaliers in New Zealand, my birthplace. Ironically, it was several years before becoming involved in Cavaliers myself. When at the shows exhibiting my Beagles, I would make sure I went to the Cavalier ring to watch the judging. I was quickly won over by these cheerful little characters and their beauty.

My first Cavalier imported from the UK gave me early success in the Cavalier ring. His name was Gr Ch Loranka’s Aristocrat, who gained his Championship title in a short time, and after winning a few Best of Breeds over Specials, he had enough points to also gain his Grand Champion Title by 15 months of age. ‘Ari’ was a great little show dog and proved to be competitive in the Toy group, winning Group One the first time shown, including other Group placements. I eventually retired Ari at age 5 to a wonderful pet home to live his life as a beloved companion while continuing to pursue my breeding program.

Now 2020, I have been involved as a breeder and exhibitor of Cavaliers for ten years and have achieved Breeder of Merit designation as Jadestone Cavaliers. My passion keeps the dream alive and my goals of breeding and showing my Cavaliers to their Championship titles from the Bred By Exhibitor class. I have titled my Cavaliers in AKC and CKCSC, USA, the original Cavalier Club, and Registry. In CKCSC, I had incredible success with my home-bred boy; Multi BIS CKCSC CH Jadestone Legend Has It, JW by gaining his CKCSC CH title with Multiple Best In Show awards by the young age of 18 months.

I am a member of the following;

  • CKCSC Regional Club, Cavaliers of the West. (COTW)
  • Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club USA. (CKCSC)
  • Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Southern California.(CKCSCSC)
  • American Kennel Club (AKC)
